This profile featured the nation’s 455 most environmentally responsible schools, and the guide recognized schools based on their use of recycling, renewable energy and conservation programs, environmental studies opportunities for students, and career guidance for green jobs.
Loyola University Maryland was just named in The Princeton Review Guide to Green Colleges: 2023 Edition.
“Our focus on sustainability is an important way we live out our mission at Loyola. As a Jesuit institution, we understand our responsibility to care for our common home for current and future generations. That means reducing our impact on the environment as well as looking at the social, economic, and spiritual aspects of sustainability,” said Tracy Harvey, Ph.D., sustainability program director and co-chair of the sustainability committee at Loyola.
Loyola assembled the Sustainability Committee to lead the University’s efforts to care for the environment, including establishing a comprehensive climate action plan and green building and energy management policies.
Additionally, Loyola works to reduce waste, grows an accredited arboretum and native gardens, and sponsors a local farmers market.
